I just bought a '74 Outrage 21, no trailer. What should I be specifically looking for in a used trailer for this boat? Thanks.

Matt

Howdy, Matt.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Keel rollers that support most of the weight with bunks to keep her level.

On BW hulls, the greatest strength is in the keel. Too much pressure on the outer hull can cause distortion.

That recommendation is straight from the Owner's Manual, though not a direct quote.

Thanks for the info, JB. I'm also concerned about size (who isn't? :p ). I'm assuming I need a tandem-axel trailer, but I wonder if there is some critical width measurement I need to be looking at when choosing a trailer.

Matt

Talk to a Whaler dealer. Nobody knows better than they. If they recommend a specific brand and model, get the specs for it and then check competitors literature for similar models.
