info on a lone star

i just got a 14' lone star aluminum semi v with trailer for free last week. the title says it was manufactures in 1950. the boat is in real good shape, does anyone know the horsepower rating on this boat? any info would be great!!

I can't say for sure, without more info or at least a picture, but my dad's 1957 14' Lone Star King Commander and my uncle's Commander of about the same vintage both handled 25 horse Johnsons just fine. In fact, my son is still using my dad's old Lone Star with an 1984 model, 25 horse Evinrude to this day.

Assuming that it is in good, usable, condition, you've got a great boat there and you are one lucky dude.

I remember trout fishing on the White River thirty years ago in my grandfather's Lone Star. Great old boat. It was offered to both my brother and myself years ago but we were too short-sighted to accept it. As stated, 25 would be ideal.
