Re: info for new jet ski owners

Hey Jeff,
Thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to post this info for us newbies!! I'm not new to wrenching, but new to jet-ski's. Been lurking in these forums for several months now, learning all I can!!! It really paid off last weekend and saved my neighbor a ton of trouble and money!! He has been having trouble with a '94 Kawasaki 750 SS that would stall and wouldn't restart when warm... Well, by the time I got over to look at it, the engine had hydrolocked.... Yup, didn't turn off the garden hose when the engine stalled... He had already pulled the plugs and cranked most of the water out of it, and wanted to let it "sit" and dry out, but from reading your post I knew it was absolutely critical that we get it running ASAP!!! It took quite awhile and looked hopeless at times, but I refused to give up on the patient. Finally after removing and drying the plugs countless times, and some coaxing with carb cleaner, WD-40, and a touch of starting fluid, she roared back to life!!! We ran it on the garden hose for 15 minutes or so, until we were confident that it wasn't going to stall on us, then launched it from the ramp. Seemed a little sluggish at first and hesitated upon acceleration, but the more I rode it, the better she ran!!! Within a half hour or so, she was running absolutely perfectly and ran well for the rest of the weekend without stalling and had no more warm start issues!!! Don't know what cured those problems.... perhaps the carb cleaner??? Anyhow, everyone was happy!!!
Thanks again!!!! :)
