I have a 1992 luhrs motryacht with 2 marine power 454's and borg warner trans. This is my second season with the boat last season I noticed the port side shaft looked to be out of round. So over the winter I had a new shaft installed with new coupling I put the boat in today It is doing the same exact thing I am at a loss. Here is a vid you can see that the boot jumps around like its out of round the other side does not do this any suggestions appreciated.

Don't think it's the drive or the shaft, it's the coupling alignment.

IB need to be aligned to within .003 MAX
Many folks that do alignments don't do it correctly

Hi. I’m not convinced it’s the shaft or the coupling that’s the issue.
Pretty certain that it’s the flexible mounted shaft gland that’s moving there. Likely that it needs packing replaced.

Packing is brand new I took it apart today noticed the flange transmission side was bent/had a ridge on the outer edge/face it couldnt not sit flat was about a inch long. No idea how it got there old owner maybe... Took the grinder to the flange made sure it was all flat. No more wobble maybe a smidge but its basically gone I ordered a new transmission flange.
