After a morning of tow sports and stopping in the middle of the lake for a few moments. I started the engine back up [with no hesitations] and proceeded to start towing again, and the engine just had no "get-up-and-go". I could pull a tuber.
Seemed to idle fine. When in gear, as I gave it throttle very gently it really struggled to gain speed [with no towing] and as I pushed the throttle WOT the engine bogged down a lot. Never stalled but for the rest of the day it continued to do this.
Flame arrestor is very clean.
I hopping someone might be able to give some insight as the problem really happened all of a sudden. The boat has been running well this year.
WOT rpm only reaches 3000rpm and the boat can barely get on plain.
When at very low speed there are no apparent issues.
When trying to pick up speed the engine sounds a little louder to me [Harley Like].
Again, this was an all of a sudden incident.
As an aside: A couple weeks ago I put in a new Fuel/Water separator and used some sea foam in the gas tank. After doing that I drove the boat twice with no issues.
