Any advise out there on the best way to winterize an I/O engine that will reamin in the water over the short winter season we typically have here in northern KY?

If you have shorepower, you can trust your luck...as many do, to a small ceramic heater in the engine room. However if you lose power for any length of time in a cold snap, you may be in trouble. If it were mine, I would run the engine long enough for it to warm up then kill it with oil down the carb...slow at first for about half a quart then dump it down the carb to kill it. Now open all block drains and loosen hoses to drain the engine. After all the water is out...close drains, re-attach hoses, pull thermostat and pour about 3 gal. of pink RV antifreeze down the hole. Spray engine down with corrosion preventative & close it up.
