In the last 7 days my next door neighbors on both sides of me have have passed away. To the south of me, a 72 year old woman, Becky, whos physician father delivered me and to the north of me, a 54 year old guy, Tim, whom I've known since high school. I've lived next door to these wonderful people for the last 15 years and we had all pretty much become a part of one anothers lives.
Becky lost her husband 2 years ago. I had been helping her keep up with her 26 acre place since husband Jim passed, mowing grass, picking up limbs and such. SHe was also my after work buddy. I always get off work about an hour before my wife and I would take our little dog and go check on Becky and let her little dogs play with mine. She always had a cold beer for me and we'd talk about the days events.
Tim and I belonged to the same hunting camp for years. His kids and mine played high school sports with one another and we'd take turns hauling each other to all the away games. We had a standing deal in that when we both mowed our grass on the same day, we both have plenty mow, who ever finished theirs first we would help the other finish theirs then enjoy a cold one, watch the race and burn something on the grill.
I will miss my friends...........
