Hi Everyone,

In april I plan on selling my boat. I paln on selling it in april and the marina (most likely)Won't have a mechanic on the grounds till may. They removed the OutDrive for storage when I had the boat winterized. Since the mechanic won't be around, I might have to put the outdrive back and start the boat myself. I am not to clear on the steps to take to start it in the spring.

Do I just put ear muffs on the intake and just starter up? Do I need to replace something first?

Thanks,
lou

If it was winterized properly, you should be able to fire it right up in the spring after you get the OutDrive back on and ready to go!

One precaution would be to pull and ground the coil wire, then begin cranking the engine over. It won't start...but that's the idea. Watch your oil pressure gauge. When it begins reading good oil pressure, reconnect your coil wire and let 'er fire up. Majority of all "normal" engine wear is during the first few seconds after it fires up cold...with the oil still sitting in the pan. This wear increases when the engine has sat for a long time...

MHO

Walt
