This Friday marks the second anniversary of the passing of the iboats legend Lester Wright aka SpinnerBait Nut.

After joining in '09 while searching posts, I often ran across SBN. I soon noticed that he had not posted in almost a year. After doing a little research I found out why.

For those who joined post-SBN he was a moderator but under his screen name it did not say moderator, it said "A true iboats friend". He posted 17,574 times in his six years here.
He was not just a legend but maybe one of the reason's that this forum exist's as we see it today. All the page's of tribute's to him brought tears to my eyes. He was truly a unique and special person. This site is not the same without him I'm sure.

Just to give you an idea of who he was here, dockside chat became a thread in his honor for five days. Everything else on dockside was moved.
If you never knew him click on the links and meet a "true iboats friend".

WE ARE NOT TRULY DEAD UNTIL THE LAST PERSON WHO KNEW US IS GONE.

Many of us still miss Lester quite a bit. I prefer to remember him around his birthday which tends to be a happier date to remember.

I know that he helped me and offered valuable advice more times than I can count. Still miss him, but his memory lives on.

Spinner and i shared some fishn time over the years. I was honored to be a pall bearer and shared some posts that were sent from fellow iboaters for the funeral. Life does go on but Lester will always be looking down with a smile and a hand.

R.I.P. "Lester" a.k.a. (spinnerbaitnut).

There is rarely a day I don't think about you.

We'll meet again, on the other side.

My thought's go out to you this week.

Never met him, never talked to him but I discovered his presence here after I joined. Read all your post's. Sad story....., do you still keep in touch with his family?

God Bless this Thanksgiving.

Yeah . . . hmmmmmmm . . . I think about Spinner almost everyday too. One of his legacies here is that the Mods often ask themselves "what would Spinner do" when dealing with daily issues. He was a good man, and he had many, many people who considered him the same. I can only hope I am as deeply respected and as deeply missed as Les is. Hey buddy, I miss you a lot.

They say the legacy you leave behind is how highly you are judged as a person...............

No one can take his place. When I first started hanging around here I recall he was friendly and offered good advice. The boat loving world was much more than a hobby for him I believe .

Yep, greatly miss Les. Talked with him on numerous occasions. Helped him organize a couple of "Thanksgiving Blessing" meals and baskets for members who were in need. He was a big man with an even bigger heart.
