Re: Impeller
Not that hard get a manual it will show you.
Only real issue is the bolt hidden in the snout.
Looks like an upside down fin on the back of the motor where exhaust exits.

Basically in a nutshell
Remove the shift cotter pin thats in front of the motor. If you have sobody move the shifter and you look on the front of the motor you can see the connection.
Then remove prop. This makes it lighter and easier. Plus you don't dent or bend it or hurt yourself.
Remove 6 bolts I believe and drop the lower unit.
You will remove the housing bolts and remove the impeller. I believe there is a key in the shaft.
Replace impeller and all seals.
Hook up the hose inside then up she ges into the motor. Grease the drive shaft LIGHTLY and not the top. You may need to move the motor to get it to slide in but it will then bolt it up and put the prop back on or your going nowhere fast!

Hope this helps I have not done my 88 85 yet but soon real soon. As soon as I fix it so I can move it. I mean bolt it back onto the hull.
