Re: impeller replacement
Scott,
Let me tell you, I just went thru this whole ordeal and I just don't think these guys who mess with this alot understand (or see it) from our perspective who have never done this before.

The screw that holds the shift rod on is VERY hard to get to. The shift rod comes up and slides between 2 prongs that and the screw that goes right thru the middle. In order to get the screw out, I did the following:

1) Remove the Air intake box extender (not sure the technical name).
2) Remove the shift cable and throtle cable linkage.
3) Use a FLEX extension to unscrew the screw that goes thru the level and the actual shift rod. I can't remember the bolt size (3/8 maybe). I could not have done it without a flex extension.

Then once you get the screw out, the shift rod will slide right out.

Now the hard part is getting the shift rod back into place (line up) with the shifter so you can put that darn screw back in! I used one of those long flex things with 4 prongs that stick out when you push the button on the other end to hold the screw and push it back in once the holes are line up. I had to use a LONG screwdriver to move the shift rod in place, and once in place, push the locking screw in then tighten it up. Hopefully it will be a while before I have to do that again, but it was a learning experience to say the least. My waterpump works great now and glad I saved the $200 it would have cost me otherwise.
