Impeller pump tube

Have a 86 four winns with alpha one. Installed new impeller and seal. A old rubber looking tube came off old impeller base. Is the new plastic looking one what i need? No seal going into to copper or does copper tube go in pump base and seal? Thanks

There must be a rubber bushing in the pumps top cover

I have it set up like this. So the copper tube just slides over the plastic guide tube into the body? Seal is just in pump body? Thanks

So the copper tube just slides INTO the plastic guide tube into the body?
lightly grease/lubricate the rubber bushing in the pump cover, makes the copper tube slide better
