My 1995 Johnson 150 Fast strike has always had a pretty heavy stream of water when running. but today out on the lake it still had a fast stream but it was vary fine spray, not its normal. Dont know if i should be worried, or is it time to replace the impeller, it was replaced about two years ago.

Re: Impeller problem

Your description sounds to me like blockage at the nozzle, instead of a loss of water pressure. Stick a little wire up in that nipple see if an insect crawled up in there. check the hose between cylinder head and nipple.

Two years is a good interval for impeller replacement -- I've gone longer before and notice the pee stream starts to weaken around 3 years give or take. It's the one part I'd rather replace *before* I see symptoms.
