I have a 87 bayliner Capri 2.3l ford with the omc outdrive. Question is-- can you replace the impeller pump with an electric pump. If so, how would you install the pump.
No and the impeller on a Cobra, is about the easiest one to replace that there ever was. Make sure that the gasket around the housing is seated in the groove or else it can suck air. Also make sure the fitting with the little rubber hose on it is clear so air can escape it helps the impeller prime.
