Exactly what your manual says! Do you have one yet?

(I'm just kidding around with my somewhat sarcastic response, but really, if you don't have a manual, get one! That will really help you decide what projects/maint. you want to try yourself and what ones you want to stay away from!)

good luck either way!

Volvo does't go by year, and usually not by HP, so, what's your engine model number?

Re: Impeller installation

Remove the 4 screws holding the cover on. Pry the impeller out of the pump body with a couple of screwdrives. (Make sure the shaft does not pull out of the pump). Put some dish washing liquid on the new impeller and twist it into the pump housing. Install cover with new gasket/oring (whichever it has).

You can also download a free owners manual from Volvo at the link below.

Re: Impeller installation

No easy way, you have to either pull the exhaust manifold, or lift the engine up and forward.

So the easier of the two is obviouslt to pull the manifold, replace the exhaust hose, purchase an exhaust manifold gasket and bolt the manifold back on....correct??

No offense here, but take the time to do some research on the work you want to perform on your boat, it will benefit you and the boat greatly ;)
