Well, I have been wanting a really good crank bait rod. It really didnt matter how much it cost, but I just couldnt find what I wanted.

Bait casting:
6.5-7':
Preferably fiberglass, but would take a Graphite if it was limber enough:
Correct action, slow tapper, lots of action from the handle to the tip:

Well, I was just at, (You know, WalMart), and sure enough I found what I wanted, everything I required. Berkly Graphite, 7', perfect action, Cherrywood edition,$18.99. Hard to believe they can make a rod of that quality for that price anywhere in the world.
Yes, you guessed it, now i need another reel.

You know, Im sure that there are many great reels out there, but I have all Ambassadures, (SP), and I like the fact that whatever pole I pick up, they all feel the same as far as the reel goes. I dont have to think about how each one works and what retrieve ratio it is. If I want it fast, I reel fast, If I want it slow, I reel slow, all the same. Im probably am in the dark ages, but most of my friends are there with me. Also, I have cleaned and lubed them so many times, I can do it in my sleep.

I like the pole I bought yesterday so well, I went back and bought the spinning version today.

P.S. Dont tell my wife.

Im a bonified addict. The neet thing about it though is that I have a lot of worms that are out of production. Re: Im still sick, sick, sick!

I'm with LD, on both the type of reels and worms. Course I have a confession to make. I have owned my ambassadeurs for going on ten years and have never opened them up for a cleaning. The mos ti have done is opened them wide enough to slip some bearing grease on them and thats it.
As far as the worms are concerened: well I have a several tackle boxes full everything ( crank baits , jerk baits, spinner baits...). But man I can't stop fishing a worm. And when I see at the store I can't seem to walk away without at least one bag. I may have try getting on ebay like LD.
