ignition problem?

i have a 225 v6 johnson after sitting idle for 4 months it would not start. an after mkt power pak installed got it working fine.except now it will not turn off. ignition switch is good. is it possible that the pwer pack is defective? there is a black wire with a yelloow stripe going to what looks like a reverse-foward switch can that be shorted out. im stumped.help

You most likely have the connections wrong, the black wires with yellow stripe. The shift switch kills 3 cylinders sometimes when shifting to neutral. Model number and e-mail I will send diagram.

Clanton-thanks for answering my post.my 225johnson v6 is running but wont shut down with ignition switch off.my model # j225txce. i will appreciate recieving that diagram at jatco1@worldnet.att.net. thanks
