1981 Suzuki Spirit 65HP Outboard sitting on a 81 15' Glastron SSV-151. I was motoring around a inland lake with no problem. Turned of motor and rested. Restarted and began to move out when the engine died and left me drifting dead. No crank when I turn the key- nothing; new battery installed months ago. Any assistance?

Re: Ignition problem

Check or replace the fuse located with the bunch of other wires on the side of the powerhead under the hood.

Re: Ignition problem

I ran the lines from front to rear and could only find 2 fuses. On for the bulge pump other on the outboard motor, next to the starter. Both were find but I replaced them anyway.

When I turn the key I get no juice - thinking ignition switch itself? Tried jumping from battery to starter still no luck.

Re: Ignition problem

Make sure you have a good ground connection between the battery and the engine block.

Re: Ignition problem

Also check that the neutral valve (usualy brown wire) that comes from the starter relay to the main unit is ok.
