Can someone help me out. Key works, battery full, no spark at plugs.
Good Plugs, good fuel. Used l988 chrysler 70hp motor. I pulled off the
ignition module and it is full of sandy gooey something and also smells
like possible burn????? How can I check this unit and or get new?
Please respond...Thanks

Re: Ignition modules?

I got busy yesterday, so now I can reply. The model is 707HE
serial #56l0 made in hartford,wisconsin....Now I am perplexed. I have
a title on this and it reads the same 70HP/chrysler. I can take a photo.

I did redo the coil and cleaned off all the terminals. The back of
the module has heat dope? this is common I found out. It protects
the wires and waterproofs at the same time??? hmmmm

If this is a Force motor wouldn't it be on the outside cover, not
chrysler? sorry, but I am learning. thanks again. Miss Jan

Guess what? It is a l970 motor, not l988...geez I am so screwed again.
This is the 3rd motor I have purchased and not one of them run....grrrrrr.
It came with l00hp/mercury (full of salt and bugs), l8hp johnson pull motor ( I
could not pull it l954) model, and now l970 chrysler electric start that don't.....
bout to give up here.................
