Ignition issue

I replaced my plugs, wire, cap, rotor, coil and fuel filter today. I went to start it and all that happened was a click then all my gauges quit working. Then five minutes or so go by and the gauges start working and I try to start it again. Same thing happens.

What should I check for? Battery is also brand new and showing 12.8 volts on my multimeter.

Check the battery cables to make sure they are all tight. Where is the click coming from? Dash or engine?

Re: Ignition issue

Coming from the engine. I replace the battery a couple months ago as well as all new clamps and connectors and all are tight. When the gauges and ignition shut off, the blower, bilge and radio all still work. Just nothing connected to the ignition switch. Is there an ignition module or anything that I could have messed up on the distributor? It was a major pain to get the rotor off so I had to gently pry it up.

Re: Ignition issue

That sounds like typical loose connection somewhere. Check the main harness plug.

Re: Ignition issue

That's what I was thinking but I checke ever connection that I could find. I will have to check again tomorrow. It just strange that is comes back on after 5 minutes each time.
