I can't beleive the price for new coils.I think that $107.00 per coil is a little steep.does anyone have any used coils for sale. mine are the black coils on a 87--50 hp force. I talked to one marine machanic and he told me that I could use the older resister type coil from a car. He says that he has done it before and worked fine. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
thanks
Ron

Re: ignition coils

Hey Ron, I am looking for the same coil for my 87 force 50 only they quoted me 368.00, if I find one cheaper or a used one I will let you know.

Re: ignition coils

All Force electronic parts are becomming outragous for price. I believe that Mercury is increasing the price to drive people that own Force to have to upgrade.

I looked up a trigger today for a Force 120 prestolite ignition. Over $700.00

But...If you can source though CDI or Rapair.. you might find the electronics for cheaper.

TMD
