I have been doing resto work to my boat and trailer and found the SouthWest Wheel company online. I used their web site to order a new axle, wheels and tires. They had great prices but their customer service sucks! I ordered a 3500lb drop axle over a week ago and didnt hear anything from them on the status of my order even though they state on their web site that I would receive that info in 48hr once the order was placed. I called twice and both time they took my info and told me they needed to look up the info and call me back. Well they never called. Now having dropped $400 dollars on parts from this company I was getting pretty angry! So I began sending emails to there contact email address and finely got info. Come to find out my order was going to take 3 weeks to fill:eek: all because one inch in length. They explained that because I needed a 86" long axle I would have to wait the 3 weeks but they had 87" axles on hand they could ship now......ahhh ok i told them to send the 87" inch length not a big deal. I asked why they didnt inform me that this was the case, as there policy listed online stated that any order issue would be notified via email...........they gave no good answer just told me that 86" inch wasnt normally stocked. Now I cant get a hold of them to verify that the order was changed to 87" length and to get a posible shipping date!!

All the while my boat is sitting on dollies waiting to be put on its trailer!!

Just wanted to pass my experience off to anyone looking for trailer parts to stay away from this company!

Sorry for your poor experience, Solar.

In cases like this we are glad to hear the facts of experience with vendors, but not unqualified bashing. I think you have restrained yourself to avoid serious bashing.

I have had only very good experience with www.championtrailers.com if you need further parts, etc.

Good luck. :)

Yea I geuss you get what you pay for....they have good prices but far from cheap still!! I have just with in the past hour been able to get confirnmation from them that my parts will be shiped today and to expect a tracking number. Now my only hope is I receive all the parts......if their packaging department is anything like their customer service I am in trouble.

maybe I'm looking at a different page, and I'm not trying to defend them, but it says on their web page that they stock odd lengths not even... just saying

That is not the issue......The issue is that they did not edheir to there policys. I knew they didnt stock the length I knew it would increase time but 3 weeks is a bit over the top. The main issue is that I did not recieve notification as according to the policies and had to hunt it down my self and the people where less then helpful. I think a week is more then enough time to inform a customer that there is going to be a larger delay in the order due to lack of supplies rather than just let them wait it out.

In my experience, you don't always get what you pay for, but you always pay for what you get! ;)
