...what would you like better to keep your beautiful epidermis from ablating away?

Would it be Zinc Chromate OR a catalyzed primer OR Zinc Chromate covered with a catalyzed primer?

I'm getting ready to prep and paint my 31 y/o outdrive. I know about the vinegar bath, which I will do but I just had occasion to grind/sand thru some catalyzed primer on my trailer and let me tell you that is some tough stuff. Seems like it would stand up well to the abrasion of water.

What say you all??

ps, I know, this should probably be in the I/O section but just for a moment lets look at this problem as a general interest technical question.

Etch primer, then zinc chromate (don't forget the mask!). Top coat with anything you desire.

If it were me, etch primer then a 2 pack epoxy.
