a 150hp 4-stroke. does anyone make them? seems like such a popular engine size, and the manufacturers seem to just from 135 to 225...

Caterpillar 3406.

Just had to. :D

You're right, a 150/175-4S is needed. The closest is the Suzuki/Johnson/Evinrude 140. A nice engine.

A boat full of playboy and penthouse pin-ups rowing me around in the water. The perfect engine! Would cost a LOT though. :D

The only place to get parts for them is at the mall...........They also develop a high pitch "whine"
Milo , if money was no object I would stick with my 2 stroke rude and buy some nice rod and reels.

Well, since Diesel inboards are'nt practical on a flats boat, guess I'll take a late 80's/early 90's OMC 150HP V6 and enough "spare parts" to keep it running for a long time.... EZ to work on, and you don't need a laptop computer to diagnose problems...

I know $$$ is not the isssue... I just like to fix my own...

If money was no issue , I'd work on developing the most fuel efficient engine in the world and sell them. I'd want to make sure money never was going to become an object for me or my descendants ever again. Plus by doing my part for the enviroment, I'd put those with the oil out of business ,maybe prevent wars that went on forever, pick up the Nobel, be the working man's hero, hardly any fuel bills for transportation or heating... the list goes on if money were no issue. I like to dream big if I'm gonna dream. By the way, If you took a kid fishing with my ever efficient motors, that qualifies you for a rebate of up to 99.9% of purchase price..Hell, I can afford to be generous ,right?

Money no object? Then the sweetest outboard ever of course....Yamaha's 4-stroke fuel injected F115. Or maybe pay for eternal life, reincarnated as a Yamaha F9.9. :D

Seriously money is an object. So I'd have a Yamaha F115...or maybe the F9.9. :D
