Engine is BELCRM. Idle rpm, no load, is 2000. Seems too high.

Revs up good with no load.

What is correct idle rpm?

If too high, what is procedure for adjusting screw for each carb to get rpm to nominal?

Thankyou

Ed

Do yourself a big favor and get a manual. Then do a link & sync. The manual will have paid for itself with just these adjustments.

either it needs link & sinc, or some one has the cable adjusted wrong, or the idle stop screw in the linkage needs adjusting, have some one move the throttle lever and you will see where the linkage rests on the stop screw, should have rubber tip on it. disconnect cable and see if it will idle down.. should idle on muffs at 800-850 then when in the water with it in forward should idle at 600-650. don't try shifting it with it running at 2000. actually over 1500 on muffs is frown upon very very bad.

I'm in BAJA - no manual is available.

End of return spring on upper carb is broken off, and prevented solid return of throttle plate to home position. I repositioned the spring for better return of plate. Idle is about 1000 rpm.

Could you outline the procedure for sync and link?

Thank You

Ed
