OKay, sorry to post again but I used a crappy title from what JBtold me to get help. I am learning of this frums so I guess titles need to be specific. I have a 1990 VRO 140. I have it set up for 50:1 mix, vro pump removed. My questions is my motor runs fine out of water with the muffs but dies when put into the ramp. I think that my idle is to low when the backpresure was applied. I do have a manual but they have about 4 differnt pics that look like my motor but they say may vary?? I have found the WOT adjustment and the throttle cam pickup adjustment I have the knob that you twist. But where is the idle adjustment. Do I need to take the silencer off the carb?? Any do you think adjusting the idle is my problem!! Thanks guys I have learned a lot.

Re: Idle speed adjustment

The idle should be set in the water in forward gear. When running out of the water it will idle a bit high.

Keep in mind that if you run it with the air box cover removed you need to richen up the high speed jets by 12 to 15 numbers and the mid range by 5 to 10 numbers.

The idle adjustment is the "knob that you twist". Your manual will outline the proceedure in detail.

Good luck!

What about de carb I have been reading that carb problems seem to be the key when you have back pressure. And cause the motor to die under pressure. Does that sound like logical common problem?? Will de carb work??
