I have a 1984 Merc 50 4 cyclinder two stroke. I just rebuilt the carbs and I believe the small brass screw is supposed to be 1 1/4 turns out to start and I have no clue what the very long silver needle is supposed to set at. Thanks for the help I want to re install my carbs and hit the lake. Thanks again guys!

If these are WME carbs, it's the exact opposite: the small brass screw is a fixed vent jet and should be set tight while the long silver needle is the idle mixture screw that should be 1 1/4 out to start.
