Idle screw ajustement in neutral or in gear

Hi y'awl, I read different version sooooo .... let me ask you. On my Force 15hp, should the idle speed be ajusted while the engine is on idle or in gear ? And what is the proper procedure for the idle screw setting ?

In gear with motor warmed up and as low as possible RPMs that motor will run without dying.

Turn clockwise in 1/8 turn incriments till motor starts to race. Then go the other way till motor starts to stumble. Find the half way point between these two areas and that is where you should be. When making your adjustments wait about 20 seconds between each move.

Eurolarva: thank you, will try just that.

one more thing .. when I turn clockwise and the rpm increases (races) it ususaly end up stalling after 10 to 15 seconds with the idle screw in that position.

When you mention turning clockwise do I presume you mean as long as the motor keeps running ?

Eurolarva: did it just as you said = idles great at very low rpm now.
