idle rpm's on muffs

When running it on muffs and in neutral the rpm's are around 1000-1050. My factory manual does not mention any idle rpm's on muffs or on the water.
Would the 1000-1050 be a good number on muffs? Also, when on the water, in neutral, what should the rpm's be?

What motor do you have. The main idle speed you care about is in gear and warm.

The motor is in my signature. Just trying to get idle set up before I launch her this year, in a couple of weeks.

The factory service manuals specify that the idle be set when the boat is floating normally in the lake, and when in forward gear. Should idle between 650 and 700 rpm's. That's the proper way to set the idle. It does not matter what the idle is when on the trailer. Usually it's in the 1100 range-but you should not set it to that, or it won't idle right when on the water.

Thanks emdsapmgr. That answers my questions. Now I know what to look for when I get her in the water.
