idle problem

I have a 150 force when at idle the rpms are flucuating between 700-1000 i have already gone through the carbs rebuilt the fuel pumps and i am running 50:1 mix on the fuel thanks

Idle speed is actually checked in gear under load with the boat in the water. Is this the way you checked it?<br /><br />Bob

Do you have an idle SPEED bolt that buts up against the block? It should be ineffective when setting the idle mixture screws.

I have not been able to get this thang in the water yet so the idle rpms are measured with the muffs on. I have been messing with this boat for quite some time now. I am not sure about the idle stop screw. It just acts like it may have a miss or something and i didn't know if the flucuating was normal or not.

Well get it in the water and it will idle totally differant. The muffs will NOT work for adjusting the idle.<br /><br />Bob
