Hey everyone,

Quick background...got an XD 18 and had intermittent performance issues. Sometimes ran like a cheetah, sometimes like a elephant. Carb kit was installed due to very old and degraded diaphragm. Still had performance issues. Just put in a new switchbox after discovering I was only running on one of the two cylinders. (Haven't put it in the river yet to see performance, but it runs fine in a barrell of water) Now my question is this, the screw that is located above the intake to the carb. Is that the idle adjustment? There is also a long screw threaded into the throttle linkage. I think that that is the idle adjustment screw, so what is the screw in the carb for? After tinkering with it last night, if it is out of adjustment, it won't start. Slightly adjusted, it starts right up. Do I just use that as a rule of thumb, or can someone provide me with both the purpose of this screw and the correct adjustment.
