Idiot light on

Details:
2013 Bayliner 255CR just put in the water today for the first time. Any one have an idea what the idiot light is on for? I have an ODB2 scan tool but did not bring it with me. I did notice that because the lake was cool the engine was not running at temp (it was running a bit cold) I know my moter has the cats in it so I am thinking it is an emmision thing. My BMW did that when I would drive out to Chicago for the winter. The engine would not get up to proper temp and the check engine light came on. When I plugged my scan tool in it said engine not at proper temp or something like that. Any input would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention. Mercruiser 5.0 MPI with cats and Bravo III

Check Engine Light on new boats ??? Awesome . . .

I think boats have their own code scan device, different than the cars ???

BTW: can we see some pictures???

It's brand new with catalytic converters, take it to your Mercruiser dealer. It's a warranty issue.
