I have an old 7hp Wards Sea King. I am trying to figure out how to identify this thing. There's no stickers or plaques on it. I've looked all over the engine and cannot find a serial number. The only numbers I've found are these: "701216"

Can anyone give me an idea where to look, or...?

Thanks

Go to www.discount-marine-parts.com and click the down arrow on Outboard Motors and select Sea King. It'll at least give you a good idea what the numbers you need will look like and maybe where to find them. Concentrate on the Eska and Clinton models as those are the only 7Hp Sea Kings I saw listed. Both would be air cooled powerheads with water cooled exhaust. One has a Clinton powerhead on a Clinton leg (1970-73), the other has a Tecumeh powerhead on an Eska leg (1969).
