identifying my drive unit?

Ok so my pontoon boat has a outboard and I got the serial # off of it to identify it for parts ordering. Well I just acquired a boat that I'm going to restore, so where on the engine or drive unit is the serial # so I can identify it for parts ordering on a mercruiser?

The type of engine (I4, I6,V6,V8) and the year of your boat would be a good starting point. Pictures NEVER hurt.

Don it is a 1991 Glasstream 180se with a 4cyl.
