Hello all! I am new to the forum, but have been reading and learning from your info!! I have a couple of questions. I have a Nissan 9.8hp that I am trying(with no luck) to identify the year of. The model is a NS9.8B (3K9-1 if that helps) serial #20643 with electric start. I cannot find anybody that can identify the year of this. I have also purchased a 15hp Nissan, am I correct that the bore/stroke of the 15hp is larger? I have heard talk of "converting" a 9.8 2-stroke to a 15hp, as a restrictor plate is the only difference, but the 9.8 weighs 59lbs, and the 15 weighs 81lbs, so I am hoping there is more to it then that. I am hoping the 15 will push my 14'Gheenoe better then the 9.8, with a little more speed-what do you think?? Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any help!!
