Identifing the Year?

Does anyone have a guide or a way to identify the year of a paticular Starcraft? Can you tell by the hull number if you can find it?

I'd like to have an idea of what year a boat is when I find one for sale. Currently looking at the 60's through early 80's.

i assume you're asking in case you find a boat w/o a hull id plate since it should say on the plate what year it is. i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, all boat were required to have a 12-digit hull number starting in 1973. Prior to that, i believe starcraft boats had a 6-digit hull number. I actually have a 1973 starcraft hull w/ a 6-digit hull number.. from what i'm told.. that shouldn't be.. maybe starcraft didn't get the memo . of course.. good luck w/ your search.
