ID sticker...

My trailer has a state of Oregon ID sticker on the front of it. I plan on painting the trailer, and the sticker would have to be removed. Does anybody know if I really need that sticker? The trailer+boat is under 1800lbs, and needs no license here. I can't even think of a situation where I could get "in trouble" for not having a number...

Try removing it in one piece by heating with hair drier or the like. Save it with the title of trailer or boat just in case you sell it to someone who will take it out of state where that info is needed.

Can't hurt.

Paint around the sticker?
Or (before you do anything) call the state about a replacement sticker.

Well, I'm painting the trailer to make it look better, and it wouldn't look very good to paint around it. :) I'm sure I can get another one, but I'm sure that involves some ridiculous fee and a trip to the DMV - I'm sure you all know how much fun that is...

In Canada we dont require any stickers on the trailers that I know of.A person at the ministry where I went to register mine 2 years ago just said if there is no paper slip for the trailer we will issue a new one "just tell me it's homemade".It was the way to go for me a lot less grief.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. (just say it's homemade if there's any problems) I think it might have been homemade to begin with anyway.
