ID plate anywhere besides transom bracket?

This is a 50ESL73R. I have changed out my transom bracket for a later model, from a 1982 50HP. Of course now the model and serial # info on the transom bracket don't match the motor or my registration (no title in 'Bama). Two questions: 1) is the serial number found anywhere else, like on the block or head? and 2) the little ID plate fasteners have a tiny hex head; do they unscrew or are they just fancy rivets? Thanks in advance for your help.

Only the one! There is a welch plug on the top of the engine that should have the model # stamped

yes the little welch plug on head and yes the little hex screws can be undone and changed over.
ive done this loads of times.
and you can also get a new plate made at omc/brp if you want one or just get a sticker made up like the later engines.
