High I have freind of mine who recently purchased a boat with a 35hp Mercury. In order to buy parts we need to know the year in which the motor was made so here is the serial#.

if that is the number without a B in the beginning than it is a 1972 40 horse if it starts with a B than the numbers 3453932 that it is a 1988 35 horse merc
