iboats commercial side comment/question

I have noticed something on both the used boats and marine store portions of the iboats' site that is confusing/frustrating to me. Whenever I click any link on those sites there is a delay between my clicking and the computer generated "sound" of the click coming out of my speakers. This delay is equal to the time it takes for IE to actually start moving toward the next link. I am on there fairly often as I always try to post links back to you guys when describing a part or a product. I know it is frustrating for me, so it must be frustrating to other customers as well. Is it just me? Frankly, I doubt that as I don't recall this occurring from other commercial sites. Maybe it is just during particularly busy periods, but I think it is more consistent than that. Thoughts?

Edit: to make sure that I am being clear, this delay is not an issue in the Forums. The physical click, the sound and the action happen simultaneously or dang close . . .

Huh! I thought I was the only one that happens to, but for me it happens in the fora, too. :(

Re: iboats commercial side comment/question

I just restarted IE and it is better, not as simultaneous as the Fora, but better. I am gald that EE saw/heard it as I was starting to worry I was blowin' smoke. It is another hour later and some East coast customers are probably off of the computer now, but I still think it is more an iboats issue than elsewhere.

Yes, I know you Mac and Nova peoples are very happy with your stuff Sloopy . . . :D

I hate that stupid click noise IE makes. One of the reasons I don't use it anymore. And I can tell what Opera is doing, not some mysterious floating window thingy.

But back to the point, I haven't noticed any wierd delays on the commercial side of things. But like I said, I know what Opera is doing when I click. It tells me if it's waiting on a reply, or recieving info, etc...

That's because your Macs are obsolete, not using the new Intel chip.
:D

Re: iboats commercial side comment/question

I have confirmed this AM with a fresh restart that this issue remains. I have turned off the sound and I can "see" the delay in the time that it takes for the little progress bar to come up. Again, no delay on the forums, delay on the commercial sites. Considering that most customers will be using IE . . .

I hope this doesn't appear that I am complaining, I just know as a salesman that anything that gets between a customer and an order is bad. I checked a couple of competitive sites and they are nearly simultaneous like the forums.

FWIW, I like the click sound that comes with IE. It helps me audibly confirm that the clicked link was actually made. This said, I have no experience with any other browsers or with Macs.
