If you stop by our race trailer(can't miss it)see www.amfoffshoreracing.com for a pic and ask for Scotty B and mention iboats, a beverage and a T-shirt awaits you.<br />We want to make it our biggest event of the year<br />Pits and viewing are FREE<br />Here is the info<br /><br />Welcome to the 2005 AMF Offshore<br />- Dash for Cash -<br />Hosted by Camden, NJ<br /><br />Hello Race Fans,<br /><br />There aren’t many new things on the Offshore Racing scene these days so when something or someone completely out of the ordinary pops up, ya just have to stand up and take notice.<br /><br />The OPA race in Camden NJ is scheduled for October 8th and 9th, and until yesterday, it had no purse and was in jeopardy of possible cancellation. Enter John Haggin and AMF Offshore Racing. This is John’s first year on the offshore circuit and he has already made a lasting impression on all the racers, especially the Performance Class racers. Haggin (as he prefers to be called) has taken it upon himself to become the champion of the P Class racers, the little guys that needs some help from time to time just getting to the next race. Haggin and OPA have really shown their generosity this time and all they ask for in return is that you join them in Camden, have some fun and enjoy a great race.<br /><br />So here’s the deal:<br /><br />NO REGISTRATION FEES<br />NO EQUIPMENT FEES<br />NO ENTRY FEES<br />A $26,000 PURSE <br />1st Place - $2500<br />2nd Place - $1250<br />3rd Place - $750<br />4th Place - $500<br />5th Place - $200<br />TROPHIES LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE – JERSEY BOYZ STYLE <br />(Winners will need to present a firearms permit to take the trophies out of the state) <br /><br />DO WE HAVE YOUR ATTENTION YET? <br /><br />To attend the race, just get to the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd and Jersey Joe Walcott Blvd and then park in the Battleship NJ Parking lot. The Wiggins Park Marina is at the entrance to the Battleship New Jersey. The fee of $35 per person covers beer, wine and food.<br /><br />**** MANDITORY<br />Sunday – Oct 9th ---- Race Day<br />7:00AM - 9:00AM Physicals: Ward Room – Battleship NJ<br />9:00AM - 10:00AM Drivers Meeting: Ward Room – Battleship NJ ****<br />8:00AM - 5:00PM launching: RCA Pier<br />Noon Volunteer boats establish racecourse<br />1:00PM Start of The AMF Offshore – Dash for Cash<br />3:00PM Start of second race<br />4:00PM Course Shutdown<br />6:00PM Awards Ceremony: Wiggins Marina Under tent<br /><br />The north end of the course will be in front of the RCA pier and the south end will be near the U.S.S. United States. Spectator boats will be escorted into designated areas along the Philadelphia side of the racecourse. <br /><br />Get a good seat early at the Camden Waterfront or watch from the Battleship NJ. Martin Sanborn will broadcast the entire race live over the Internet on talkoffshore.com. A public address system will keep spectators informed and entertained. The online radio station can be found at www.talkoffshore.com. <br /><br />By noon the racecourse will be established and made secure. All traffic will be blocked from entering the racecourse by State Police and Coast Guard and appointed volunteer boats. At 12:45 the Performance Class 5 and 4 boats will leave Wiggins Marina and head south to the south end of the racecourse where they will await a flying start at 1pm. For about one hour the boats will tear up the 4.5-mile oval course. After their race is over, the P3, P2 and P1 boats will take to the racecourse for a second race. This race will end at about 4pm.<br /><br />After the races are over, everyone is invited to join OPA for the Awards ceremony where the Champions will be crowned in all classes.<br /><br />If you need further information call OPA at 732-920-3945
