I know this is a propeller, and I tried that forum. JB mentioned I could post this here, in hopes that there are more members who browse this forum that are familiar with older motors.

I think it might be from an older johnny/rude...it looks close to what I have seen on hd-25's. I am missing what I think must be a rubber hub on the inside. Unfortunately there are no numbers stamped anywhere on this thing. It resemples a trolling motor like design but its aluminum and I can't remember if trollers ever used metal props.

Here are some pics of the prop: (thumbnails)

The inside diameter of the hub is 1.7", the hole that I assume the drvie shaft goes through is 0.5".

Judging by the horizontal notch that clearly shows at the bottom of the hub in the top photo, it appears this is a pin-drive prop. Not sure what from though although the color would say Johnson.

Maybe a 6 horse...72 > 73 maybe? They had the deep hole for where the shear pin is.

Re: I would like to identify this part.

I do think it must be from something with a smaller hp. its similar in size to the prop on my 5.5; however that being said......there is no hole in ths thing for a shear pin. In the inside of the hub it is just a raised tubular piece, which I assumed was to hold a rubber hub in place.....but I have no idea and its really just speculation. The top picture makes it look like a notch as upinsmoke pointed out, but in reality that actualy protrudes outward.

When did they first put rubber hubs on these things??? I would guess this part has to be after that right?
