What do I need exactly to rebuild them. Motor runs fine but, since its a used motor I cant trust the adjustments on it. I would like to remove the carbs and clean them at least and see the inside condition of them. then put them back together and do some needle adjustments. What should I get other than carb gasket kits, should I get needles? they are cheap and float pins maybe? or the floats? I dont want to open them up and put them back together without replacing any parts, thats against my mechanical principles.
I know you are thinking if its not broken dont try to fix it but, Im sure a through clean up will make it better and will give me a piece of mind that I need before I take a 15 mile off shore trip on a boat that I bought 2 months ago.

If your motoir is running ok now. Then take the carbs off and go through them. You will probably find a little gunk in the bowl.
If they are clean don't replace anything just because it's apart.
If you want to replace parts, then rebuild the fuel pump replace the squeeze ball and hoses.I've bought rebuild kits and ended up putting the old back in because the new didn't work as well.
Then rebuild the starter and then the water pump.
I had a pair of 88/85hp Forces from NEW and never replaced anything but the impellers/gear lube.Oh yea a head gasket too and plugs every 6-7 years.
The plugs didn't need changing I just felt guilty.
Figure out the prop? You look between the blades for a #.J
