i have seen this done on other little fishing boats i was wondering what i would need and how to do it i have a 1983 alumacraft lunker ss with a evinrude 50hp

Year and or serial number of the motor would help. You will need the steering mount kit, for your particular motor, then remove the tiller arm, then a "steering cable kit" and of course a steering wheel for the kit. I don't know if you boat has a proper front mounting area for the cable kit hub, so you may have to make that too.
You will then have to get a "controll box" as well, and a wiring harness to go with it.

with all the boats out there...personally ...id just sell what you have and buy what you want....

I really think it would be a whole lot less headache in the long run...

and it will work right...

thats a lot of changes there...

you have a very common boat style...it should be easy to find a replacement boat set up the way you want.... nd you might even find a deal and come out ahead...who knows
