It was close to 90 degrees here today. I ended up working through lunch so I went home early with hopes to get the boat out.
Know this, I work days, wife works nights and every weekend. We have a 1yo and a 4yo. And the wife is in school.
So long story short, when we finally get the boat to the launch and a cold front was coming in (getting windy and putting a decent chop on the bay). Wife is having second thoughts about going out but after all the effort I put in I said even if we only cruise around for 20 minutes I'll be happy.
When I launched the boat the water level was pretty low. I Backed the trailer in and bam, the trailer dropped into the giant hole at the end of the slab from all the A-holes that power load there boats.
I've hit this hole before and the boat has always been floating when I am in it. Today The boat wasn't even close to floating and the hole was DEEP!! My wife and I looked at each other with a look of terror because neither one of us thought the FWD Quest mini van was going to be able to pull the load back over the hump.
It took everything that van had to get it out. I was at 3/4 throttle before the rig moved. I was sure the tires were going to spin. But that darn Quest pulled like a champ. What a relief to have the boat free of that hole.
There is no way I am using that launch again this year and I don't have the time to drive to any of the further launches because I can only take the boat out after work.
So I guess this is it for this season I am very frustrated but I am at piece with this. I hope the rest of you enjoy what's left of there season cause it's a long cold winter.
