I think I screwed up

The wife wanted to get some sun today so we went out on the boat about 11:00. I let her sun away and I figured I would just troll a bit and maybe pick up a fish or two. Then this thing hit. It is a chain pickerel. Since I was trolling I had a long ways to reel this fish in. The thing was exhausted by the time I landed him so I held him along side a rule mounted on the boat and a photo or two and got him back in the water as fast I could because I always catch and realese. Checked the Pa record pickerel and it was 8 pound 14 ounce 30 inch. My was longer and looked fatter than the record. I am sure he was every bit of 8 pounds. I think I just threw the record fish back in the lake. <br /><br />

Looks like a Pick. here FH..markings on northern are different and not as dark. Nice fish..ones I luck onto are alot smaller...by the way are your ears burning...your being buzzed about almost every night...someone asked on the chat the other nite ifn you had telepathy....since your puter isn't up to date....LOL

VERY NICE..!! i know i laid into the state record many times... but they always bite thru the line before i land 'em...<br /><br />love to catch 'em ,, an catch 'em often .. especially towards the end of the fishin' day.. cause i tend to/an always have to force myself to SLOW down... ( when bassin' )... <br /><br />picks always hit me fast retrieve..

wow! nice fish. i guess you will have a digital scale handy next time, eh? i bet the pic alone weighs a couple of lbs. i had one @ 2# jump in my ghenoe one dark night while using a 12v light.

You didn't want all the apperances at the outdoor shows anyway, the book signings, interviews, endorsments etc would have gotten to been a burden.<br /><br />Someone would have thought they were doing you a favor by giving you a new bass boat and rods, only to find out that you would have to pay the taxes! Take pride that you let her go afterall the taxes on a $30,000 boat would be around 8% and that $2,400, would really put a dent in the boat fund. Hey wait maybe you could have traded it for a fully dressed Harley Humm... That Sucks!
