I was forced to set the acceliration cable
to a have the engine idle faster so it
wont stall out (is this safe!). Any ideas what this could mean? Before I would pull up
the warmup switch every time I had it on
neutral this helped, but when I installed new cables I decided to make the engine
idle faster in neutral. Any help how to
resolve the problem? or should i just keep
it how it is? it runs great when its not on
neutral.By the way thanks corbwell for the help on the shifter problem you were right!

Mama having a fast idle to prevent stalling when going into gear can cause a lot of problems. Suggest you adjust idle mixture screws first with idle speed adjustment INEFFECTIVE. With a good idle just from the carbs THEN raise the idle speed to prevent a
stall.

------------------

I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MY MOTOR, AND WHEN YOU TURN THE IDLE UP THE ENGINE PROBABLY CLUNKS INTO GEAR RIGHT? WELL I WAS TOLD TO TRY TO LOWER THE IDLE AS THIS CLUNKING IS DEFINITELY NOT GOOD FOR THE TRANNY. DID YOU FIND OUT THE WAY TO FIX THIS? WILL THE MIXTURE SCREWS ANSWER THIS PROBLEM OR IS MINE A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM?
