Hey all.
I just purchased a new Crestliner Fish Hawk 1650 and I am having the I-pilot link (not original I-pilot)
installed. A Humminbird 858c HD DI is on route to the dealership. He had never heard of
the I-link so I want to make sure he installs it right.
The humminbird uses an external gps puck. Does anyone out here use the I-link?
If so, where should I have the gps puck installed?
I know that the Terrova trolling motor has a gps and the i-link will use either the gps
from the trolling motor or the humminbird gps puck depending on the function I will be
using at the time.
So, if anyone knows what gps is used for each function and where the puck should be installed
I would deeply appreciate it.
I am concerned that if the puck is in the wrong place, I will miss my waypoints or
function/s will be confused as to where the boat is. If it's confused, then it will work
erratically as it will think that either the boat or Terrova is somewhere other than
where it actually is.
EG - for example - if spot lock uses the humminbird and spotlock is to keep
you within 5 feet of a waypoint - then the gps may always be more than 5 feet
away and you'll end up going in circles.
Any/all infor will be much appreciated.
