Steve the P.O. called me this morning and said he dug it all out, SO I think I ended up with a very workable situatuion.. First off the good, He had bought a good amount of gaskets the day he tore the motor down, also had new 90 oil for the lower end, and new bearings and seals for the engine
A very nice bonus was that steve is a very smart cookie, hes a very old navy man, He labels everything!! I use this most of the time , when I do odd jobs, so thank you sir.. 90% of the pieces are marked like this, A little hard to make out what was written on tape, But I think i can get it
So Its a 1991 90 hp force (havent verified the 90hp yet) bayliner with the L drive, This is the unit that steve was most woried about!! It was under water for about 6 weeks back in 1996, he drained the boat, pulled the electronics, and tore the power head apart, they installed the crank and rods/pistons back in before he stored it, Im going to pull it apart since it was in storage for 12 years and since I have the gaskets... anyway he said he thought the hole piece needed replaced because he thought it wouldnt be any good (6 weeks under water, but im sure in not going to find a new one, and Im real sure im not going to find a used on that looks this good.. SO can I still get the reset buttons??? The power strip shouldnt be an issue to find, I peeled back a bit on one of the red wires to see what the core of the wires looked like and ive seen worse!!! Have any opinions????
He also bought a new prop which was cool because the old one have a little corrosion in the thrust end.. The new one is on the left he didnt wrap it
So evry thing is here ( I believe) should i put a different set of reeds in ?????
IF SO?? what type or brand????? im clueless, Has anyone been through this process a few times???????? I feel very comfortable doing this but it never hurts to have an extra mind available!!!! AND how do I figure out what size the engine is??? I was hoping it would be on top of the spark arrester but no dice!!!!
