Does anybody know how the trim switch works? It has three buttons. A top button (UP) a middle button which is a two way toggle (UP/OUT) and a bottom button (IN).

What are these functions? What do they do? I've never owned an I/O before so I don't know what I'm doing. Please help.

Thanks,
Don

Re: I/O Trim switch

top = up (only soooo far though)
middle = HOLD plus UP for TRAILER MODE (goes higher than just up)
Bottom = down

Middle center 1s Hot lead when it goes up activates fluid one way when down activastes fluid oposit way. Easy to run wire to housing on older Motors so it can be used from the back of the boat, saves a lot of back and forth to controll switch, to load and unload as well as launching.

Gotcha. I re-read the manual again and it makes sense now.

I wanted to be clear how it worked before I re-wired it and tested it. I hope the trim pump works.
